PATCHOGUE VILLAGE

What’s new at Patchogue Theatre?

Holiday lineup will be virtual

Posted

Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts is presenting a host of shows during the holidays through online stream.

The state has put social distancing and gathering mandates in place that deem in-person performing arts impossible. Patchogue Theatre, like other performing arts facilities, have not been able to physically open, and streaming performances online continues to be a vital aspect of the industry.

“We have really had to think outside the box and pivot,” said Michele Rizzo-Berg, the director of the theatre.

A percentage of the proceeds from the upcoming events will benefit Patchogue Theatre, and Rizzo-Berg said that an anonymous donor will be matching the funds raised by the theatre.

Virtual 5K/10K Run/Walk

The virtual event commenced just before Halloween, and participants are able to sign up through Dec. 31. In an effort to support the arts, participants may select to either enroll in the 5K or 10K, which involve $25 and $30 costs, respectively.

“With our curtain closed and our lights dim, your donation will help sustain us so that we may welcome our community back when the time is right,” reads a description of the event publicized by the theatre.

All those who participate and complete the distances will receive a unique medal designed specifically for this event.

The names and finish times of those who complete the 5K or 10K Run/Walk will be displayed on the theatre’s marquee throughout January 2021.

Home for the Holidays: A Pink Martini Holiday Spectacular

The Holiday Spectacular will be presented virtually on Dec. 17 to join Pink Martini in front of a 35-foot Christmas Tree at Pink Martini’s World Headquarters in Portland. Individual tickets for the virtual event are $15, and household tickets are $20. It is encouraged to bundle the following Pink Martini special, “Good Riddance 2020!,” for an upgraded price of $20 for individual and $30 for household tickets.

These performances can also be viewed through the OurConcerts.live Apple TV and iPad apps, and both shows are available for 48 hours after completion of the live broadcast.

Darlene Love: “Love for the Holidays”

On sale now for $35, enjoy a Christmas show performed by Darlene Love, who Rolling Stone considers to be one of the greatest singers of all time. She performed "Christmas Baby Please Come Home," a song that she performed annually with Paul Shaffer and the CBS Symphony Orchestra on “The Late Show With David Letterman” for almost 29 years, before Letterman retired. Catch the Christmas special before Dec. 25!
