Closing out Spirit Week and preparing for the following morning’s homecoming celebration, East Islip High School held a fun-filled pep rally at Sal Ciampi Field at Boomer Esiason Stadium on Sept. 27. Each varsity and JV team was introduced, running on the track past the cheerleaders to enthusiastic applause, followed by impressive performances from the band, cheerleaders and kick line. Students from each grade level vied for the coveted Class Cup in games such as musical chairs, with the senior class taking the prize. In a new twist, two groups of school administrators and staff competed in a hula hoop relay contest, which superintendent Paul Manzo’s team won.
