Connetquot Board of Education candidates

JACLYN NAPOLITANO FURNO (Incumbent) I am a lifelong resident, 1996 alumna, mother of two Connetquot students and proud daughter of a Vietnam Veteran. I attended SCC where I received my AA in Criminal Justice and NYIT towards my BS in Behavioral Science. I have been in law enforcement for over 22 years serving in NYPD and OBCPD with honor and distinction. Between my everyday work experience and the various positions, I have held within these departments, I have experience with coming up with solutions to the scenarios at hand while honoring all parties involved. I worked for several years in NYC schools as a youth officer. I have been a BOE trustee for the past 3 years. Prior to which, I served as a PTA BOE liaison. I believe that as trustees, it is our responsibility to provide a meaningful yet fiscally conservative educational opportunity for all of the children of the Connetquot community - so they may grow to their fullest potential as human beings. I will continue to do that as a trustee while keeping the students, taxpayers, and staff in mind. I am committed to ensuring that education is about working with and for people. In my tenure, I provided strategic leadership and direction to Connetquot while working in a partnership with the BOE, community, faculty and staff. I have advocated strongly for parental rights and full transparency. I have always put children first and I will continue to put children first while being fiscally responsible and respectful of our taxpayers and residents.

I am a lifelong resident, 1996 alumna, mother of two Connetquot students and proud daughter of a Vietnam veteran. Sarah Smith

My name is Sarah Smith, I am a resident of Ronkonkoma, N.Y., and I am an alumna of Connetquot Central School District. During my time as a student, my family experienced a tragedy that led me to take on a focal role in the raising of my little sister, a current Connetquot student. The Connetquot community showed me kindness, support, and strength in my darkest days.
