William Floyd pride and spirit was in the air for the homecoming festivities this past weekend! The celebration began on Friday afternoon with a thunderous pep rally, followed by the homecoming dance, and continued into a beautiful sunny Saturday with the annual homecoming parade followed by the homecoming crowning and football game!
The homecoming parade, with “Decades” as the theme, included districtwide participation from numerous schools, groups, clubs and teams showing off their green and white! Participants included: elementary and middle school groups, athletic teams, the NJROTC, middle school and high school clubs and groups, the Pep Band, members of the Board of Education, the William Floyd Alumni Association, PTO organizations, employee groups, student councils, elected officials and more! Special thanks to the Mastic, Mastic Beach and Brookhaven fire departments for their participation in the parade!
After the parade, the homecoming crowning ceremony was held on the football field with student homecoming royalty celebrated by family and friends. Then the William Floyd Colonials soundly defeated Ward Melville 38-0 before an energetic crowd of supporters! The Colonials controlled the game from the opening kickoff led by a dominant offense and a stout defense. The victory improves their record to 6-0 on the season. The Colonials are asserting themselves as a powerhouse once again in Suffolk County!
