Port Jeff’s Spy Coast opens in Patchogue with family vibes

The Port Jefferson hotspot Spy Coast Kitchen & Cocktails has officially taken over Minnesota’s on Main Street in Patchogue Village—with a rebranding to make the joint family friendly.

Spy Coast, according to the Village of Patchogue, is open and only requires an application for name and signage changes. The restaurant, located at 76 West Main Street, recently held a soft opening earlier this month.

Owners include 2006 Patchogue-Medford High School graduate Pat Haufe as well as friends and business partners Sean Chamberlain, of Holbrook, now living in Patchogue, and Mitch LaBianca, of Miller Place. Haufe also owns The Bench and has been the owner of the Port Jeff Spy Coast location since 2021.

“I am happy to be in my hometown,” said Haufe, excited to secure a spot on Main Street.

The space, he said, will also offer family-friendly events in addition to casual dining, allowing for the little ones to feel welcome while mom and dad are able to relax and enjoy good food at a good price.

“We are hoping to utilize this as a rebranding—it’s not just a bar, it’s a family spot,” he said, adding they intend to host a Disney night as well as utilize the space for fundraisers and events like bridal showers, birthday parties, holiday parties, graduations and more. “It’s a big venue we can use for functions as well as offering affordable, casual dining.”

The location is currently open to the public, serving menu items including appetizers for the table like deviled eggs ($12), lamb chops ($22), vodka chicken pizza ($20), street corn fritters ($15) and more; small plates like their braised short ribs and polenta ($26), honey garlic blackened salmon and slaw ($31), and a brown-sugar bourbon pork chop ($28); as well as handhelds like a burger ($18), a chimichurri steak taco ($17), and a Cajun chicken sandwich ($17); as well as salads including a Caesar ($13) and a fried or grilled calamari salad ($22); sides also include burnt broccoli, roasted carrots, mashed potatoes, fries, and more ($8).

A special bar menu is also available, including a chicken bacon ranch flatbread ($10), quesadillas, ($10) and a few more options.

Then, they have their specialty small-batch cocktails, including the Pink Panther, Purple Prince, espresso martini, and more, including a watermelon cooler all for $16. They also offer canned, bottled, and tapped beer selections as well as a wine menu.
