Councilman James P. O’Connor congratulated Sachin Kamath of Boy Scout Troop 205 on the occasion of his Eagle Scout Court of Honor.
To achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, Sachin completed a significant service project, developing and implementing a plan to establish two Robotics Clubs at JFK Elementary School and RCK Elementary School.
His project was carried out with the support of fellow troop members, friends, and family, and received approval from the East Islip School District Board of Education.
During the Eagle Scout Court of Honor, O’Connor presented Sachin with a Citation from the Town of Islip in recognition of his achievement. “We are incredibly proud of Sachin for reaching this important milestone,” said O’Connor. “His dedication and hard work are a true reflection of the values of Scouting, and his accomplishments serve as an inspiration to his peers and our community.”
Currently a ninth grader, Sachin has been on the High Honor Roll since the sixth grade and is a member of the National Junior Honor Society. He was also the recipient of the Excellence Award. In addition to his academic achievements, Sachin is an accomplished musician, playing the clarinet. He has earned the distinction of first chair for his school band in both sixth and eighth grades and has participated in the Jazz Band and NYSSMA.
Sachin has also excelled in robotics, leading his team to qualify for the Long Island Championships for two consecutive years, while earning multiple awards.
O’Connor commended Sachin for his outstanding achievements and his commitment to excellence both in the classroom and within the community.
