The Islip United Methodist Church will be having its second yard sale of the year on Oct. 11. The church previously held its spring yard sale back on April 27. Its fall sale will take place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Additionally, the church’s thrift shop is open Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Those who are stopping by the yard sale this Saturday can stop by the thrift shop and find something new, as it will also be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The thrift shop carries clothing for everyone, as well as jewelry, shoes, books, toys, cookware, home decor, seasonal items and more.
Anyone looking to make a donation to the church’s thrift shop can do so during the yard sale during the thrift shop’s hours. Large furniture and baby items are not accepted.
Earlier this year, the church began a new project to make its offices, food pantry and restrooms Americans with Disabilities Act compliant. With fundraising from the yard sale, special projects such as the ADA compliance are made possible. After the spring yard sale, the church raised just over $2,500.
Whether you’re looking to donate something or find something new, the Islip United Methodist Church’s yard sale is the place to stop by and make an offer.
