Sayville Garden Club awarded three homeowner gardens and one business that beautified the community in 2022.

Jim and Eileen O’Connor’s winning gardens on Astor Drive in Sayville are enclosed by many interesting evergreens. A waterfall dropping into a koi pond is a focal point and the perfect spot for sipping homemade lemonade on a sunny day.

Christine Mulroy and Susan Knoepffler’s beautiful backyard gardens on McConnell Avenue in Bayport received the second award this year. The homeowners can be seen enjoying the canna, dahlias, butterfly bush, autumn joy sedem, crape myrtle, and limelight hydrangeas featured in this area of their garden.

The mother and son team of Elinor Tornello and Doug Marino of Fairway East in Sayville were also the recipients of a Garden Club award. Together they have created lovely garden spaces by adding new elements each season. Yellow day lilies, large hydrangea blooms, ornamental grasses, and colorful annuals encircle their home and the raised-deck oasis in the backyard.

Leading to the front door of the law firm of VanBrunt, Juzwiak & Russo at 140 Main Street in Sayville, bright gardens line the path and draw many compliments from people walking through town. Tall lavender sprays and yellow blooms are complimented by blossoms in pink, white, and deep rose tones. Attorney Eric Russo can be seen after receiving Garden Club’s 2022 business award. Take a stroll up their path and enjoy the striking flowers that will brighten your day!
