Police deliver baby girl in East Patchogue vehicle

Two Suffolk County Police officers helped to deliver a baby girl in a vehicle in East Patchogue on Wednesday, March 10.

At approximately 7:20 a.m., an individual called police and stated that a woman was in labor in her vehicle parked at 166 Hospital Road in East Patchogue, a police press release stated. The location is a short distance from the North Patchogue Fire Department Third sub station. 

Fifth Precinct Officers Danielle Congedo and Daniel Rosado responded to the call. When they arrived, Nicole Gonzalez was in labor in the front passenger seat of the vehicle. Officer Congedo, with the assistance of Officer Rosado, assisted the woman and delivered a baby girl.

Gonzalez, 27, of East Patchogue, and her daughter were transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore in good condition.
