If you’re looking for a free cup of coffee, be sure to head over to Kismet Coffee on Main Street in Bay Shore on March 21. The shop is partnering with Canine Companions to hand out coffee to all who stop by. From 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., anyone who stops by will be able to meet future service dogs in training while sipping on a hot, iced, or cold-brew coffee at no charge.
Last year’s Free Coffee Day at Kismet Coffee was held March 8 and in partnership with Minor Figures, a coffee company that specializes in coffee products and oat milk. Over 400 cups of coffee were given out to anyone who ordered coffee with oat milk.
This year will be a little different. It will be in support of Canine Companions, a nonprofit that helps provide service dogs to people with disabilities, at no cost. It is the organization’s 50th year helping individuals in need.
There will also be giveaways, raffles, and limited-edition Kismet Coffee and Canine Companions coffee bags to help support the organization. The puppies will arrive at 8 a.m. and be around
until 4 p.m.
If you’re interested in learning more about Canine Companions, such as how to volunteer or become a puppy raiser, head to www.canine.org.
