The 59th annual Patchogue Christmas parade took place this past Saturday evening with a theme of “Whoville Christmas” from the beloved Dr. Seuss book, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.” Paradegoers were delighted by lights, fire trucks, and creative renditions on the Grinch theme.
Patchogue Village mayor Paul Pontieri commented on the parade’s nearly six-decade history.
“This parade has been a tradition in Patchogue for 59 years. I can remember coming when I was 9 years old, and still, it’s a tradition all of these years. And, if you look around, you’ll see all of these people out, enjoying themselves, enjoying the floats—and that’s what it’s all about, holiday spirit. It’s a wonderful evening,” he said.
