Girls basketball team wins Long Island Championship

The sixth grade girls basketball team for Our Lady of the Snow, Blue Point won the Long Island Championship on Sunday, Feb. 2. In addition they also won the CYO (Catholic Youth Organization) Sportsmanship Award this past month, making it their third, consecutive win for that prize.

“Coach Ryan O’Leary and I have had the best time with this group of 6th grade girls. We have 14 girls on the team and every single girl has been an important part of their success. They have great attitudes, they cheer each other on, and they are nothing but respectful to us. And they are all great athletes! The fact that they can have a record of 14-1, Long Island Cham- pions, and receive the sportsmanship award speaks volumes of the high character girls that we get to work with!” said Coach Cory Black.
