Freshman takes home County Class A

Posted

Zariel Macchia has done it again! On Friday, Nov. 5, the William Floyd High School freshman took home the Suffolk County Class A girls cross country championship outpacing the competition in the 5K at Sunken Meadow State Park! Two weeks ago, Zariel won the Division championship making it two seasons in a row in which she won both the division and county crowns. She has now qualified for the New York State Public High School Athletic Association New York State Championship meet which will take place on Saturday, Nov. 13 at Chenango Valley State Park. Great job, Zariel, coach John Ryan and all the William Floyd student athletes who competed so well at the state qualifiers.
