Floyd Bowling heads to county championships

The William Floyd High School varsity bowling team under the leadership of head coach James Healey recently concluded their regular season with their second consecutive League II Championship, a 13-1 record and a 10th-consecutive ticket back to the Suffolk County High School Bowling Championships. The county finals were held Sunday, Feb. 28, beginning at 9 a.m. at Bowlero in Sayville.

This season was a banner one for the Colonials, with senior Louis Parrinello placing second overall in Suffolk County with a 227 average, earning him First- Team All-County honors and securing him a spot on the Suffolk County All Star team.

Parrinello led the county by rolling a 700+ series seven times and finished the season with a 280-high game, earning him team MVP honors. After six seasons with the Colonials, Parrinello has earned countless awards, including four All-League honors, an All-County nod, three White Letter awards for academic achievement and two perfect games.

The Colonials had great performances from Juan Madera (216.4 average) and Alex Ramoska (211.6 average) earn- ing themselves First-Team All-League honors on the season. Madera dominated League II this season finishing with the highest series of 748 and ranking in the top two in both match points and high games. Ramoska finished the season with a high series of 738, a high game of 277 and a top-10 finish in the county tournament.

Other notable performances include Alex Hope, who finished the season with a 192 average and a high game of a 267, along with senior Nick Moscatiello, who finished the sea- son with a 225-high game and won an impressive 21 games.
