The East Islip School District's 2022-2023 budget passed on May 17, with residents casting 1,582 yes votes to 733 no votes. Proposition 2, for the use of capital reserves, passed by a vote of 1,784 to 516.
For the open Board of Education seat held by trustee Joann Walsh, who did not run for
reelection, Timothy Sassone was the winner with 897 votes. Rachel Ackerman received 466 votes, Dominick Barbato received 482 votes and Charles Kalinowski received 393 votes.
