If you’re looking for a piece of history this holiday season, the Historical Society of Islip Hamlet will host a Holiday House Tour on Dec. 8. It will be the Historical Society’s 27th year participating in the event. The tour will take place from noon to 5 p.m.
Get into the holiday spirit as tour guides dressed in Victorian attire greet you at each house. The houses are historical and decorated for the holiday season. Be sure to pick up your tour booklet that will feature a description of the homes and their location. They will be available starting at 11 a.m.
There will be a reception at Trinity Lutheran Church at 1 p.m. Visitors can enjoy live entertainment, refreshments, a 50/50 raffle and holiday auction.
Anyone interested in purchasing tickets can head to isliphamlethistory.org for information. Ticket donations are $30 for those who are 16 or older and can be purchased via an Eventbrite link posted on the website. There is an additional processing fee of $2.49 charged through Eventbrite.
For those of you who purchase tickets via Eventbrite, they will be ready for pickup at Trinity Lutheran Church at 11:30 a.m., on the day of the house tour.
Tickets that remain will be available for purchase at Caroline’s Flower Shop and Kleiber’s County Store on Main Street in Islip. Payment is accepted in cash or check form. Additionally, there will be last-minute tickets sold the day of the house tour at Caroline’s Flower Shop from noon to 3:30 p.m.
The event will be held rain, shine or snow, so be sure to dress weather appropriately.
