The Patchogue Arts Council held a reception on Saturday, Dec. 16, for recipients of the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) grants including, Andrea Cote (visual arts/installation), Anu Annam (interdisciplinary), Benny Migliorino (folk and traditional art), and Han Qin (film, media, and new technology).

Each artist was awarded a $10,000 grant under NYSCA’s Support for Artists program.

“This opportunity was made possible with fiscal sponsorship support of Patchogue Arts Council,” said executive director of PAC, Beth Giacummo. “Each artist had the opportunity to realize their projects with this exceptional and completive fiscal award, and PAC worked with each artist to help support them and develop projects.

The Support for Artists grants will provide $4,260,000 to 426 artists across New York, with 13 from Long Island.

“The Patchogue Arts Council’s service and leadership in the arts on Long Island made it possible to be in the position to support artists in their applications and provide professional project support to continue advancing contemporary artists on Long Island. We have so many artists that are living and working here, contributing to the arts community, and to be able to support them, give them visibility, a platform for their work and see them fiscally supported is why we continue to advocate and create opportunity,” said Giacummo.
