Over a dozen protestors from Sayville community groups demonstrated at the entrance to the Mansion at Timber Point to display their disapproval of Save the Great South Bay’s annual Oyster Ball being sponsored in part by Rechler Equity Partners LLC.
Carrying “No Zone Change” signs, the protestors were demonstrating against the current proposal of Rechler submitted to the Town of Islip for the former Island Hills golf course that will require a zone change to a Planned Development District from its current residential zoning in order to accommodate the over 800 living units in the newly named South Bay Village.
