With Hispanic Heritage month starting on Sept. 15 (ending Oct. 15), the Bayport-Blue Point library is hosting original pieces along its halls by ProjectingART, an organization whose “mission is to identify, promote, and support cultural and artistic expressions within a Latino/Hispanic context from Long Island and fostering innovative collaborations throughout the New York, tri-state area.”
A spokesperson for the library said, “In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month… we are highlighting just a few of the many beautiful paintings you can find on display at the library. These paintings were designed by a group of local Hispanic artists, who are all part of the group, Projecting Art and Festival de las Artes Jardin del Azuay.”
