On Saturday morning, a Blue Point mother posted a desperate plea to locate her son, aged 23, who had been missing since the previous night. Many in the community took to their personal social media accounts to share the alert.
On Sunday afternoon, the Suffolk County Police Department confirmed that they found the body of 23-year-old Lucas Palma in a canal in Blue Point. At this time, the police have said the death looks to be “non-criminal.”
Lucas’s mother, Rita, posted publicly, “God has chosen Lucas to be with him and we will catch up at his choosing so we can adore Lukey in Heaven as we did on Earth.”
Rita thanked the community for their “efforts, prayers.”
When the final post about Lucas’s death was shared on community pages of Bayport-Blue Point, there were dozens of comments expressing profound grief and compassion for the Palma family.
