This past weekend at the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce Annual Fall Festival held the 7th Annual Chili & Chowder Contest among many local restaurants.
Here are the results:
First place overwhelmingly was Catch Oyster Bar with their Lobster Corn Chowder at 62 votes.
The Cheese Patch, with their Spicy Pumpkin Chicken & Corn Chowder earned second place with 17 votes, followed by Brickhouse Brewery with 15 votes for their Chicken Corn Chowder. That Meetball Place’s TMP Clam Chowder & Village Idiot Pub’s Seafood Chowder tied with 13 votes.
For the first time ever there was a tie for first place in the chili contest. It was between Brickhouse Brewery’s Award Winning Chili & newbie Hometown Bake Shop’s Hometown Chili Pie, both gaining 26 votes.
In second place is Del Fuego’s Turkey Chorizo Chili with 15 votes. Village Idiot Pub’s Traditional Chili and Swell Taco’s Special Chili tied for third with 11 votes. Duke’s Dogs Special Chili came in just after that with 10 votes.
"All in all, it was a very spirited contest where all the entries received multiple votes," said David Kennedy, executive director of the chamber.
