The Bellport Garden Club will be hosting its biennial holiday event on Sunday, Dec. 8. For $20 per ticket (two for $35), you’ll be able to tour a historic Bellport home that won’t be revealed until the day of the event.
The event, which happens every two years, is one of the major fundraisers for the Garden Club. This year’s home will be on Bellport Lane, but the address is different every time. The event runs from noon to 4 p.m.; guests will be able to tour the home and shop at the pop-up boutique. The boutique features homemade items, all of which are natural and environmentally friendly, made by club members. There will also be homemade cider and cookies.
Along with your ticket, you’ll be able to receive 10 percent off at participating stores in the village on the day of the event. Participating businesses include Rooster’s Cafe, Avino’s Italian Table, TOLA, Casa DiPalma, Bellport Arts & Framing Studio and more.
“Our idea was to get people to go into the village and shop,” said Sallie Bennett, an organizer of the event.
The Garden Club has been preparing for the event for a couple of weeks, holding several workshops to decorate and to make crafts for the event. Proceeds from the event will go toward scholarships for highschool students and local nonprofits. For more information, call 631-776-9008 or visit the Garden Club on Facebook.
